Jay Leno po 22 letih zapušča priljubljeno oddajo “Tonight Show”
Popularni voditelj večerne oddaje televizije NBC Jay Leno se je odločil, da bo po 22 letih vodenje oddaje “Tonight Show” prepustil mlajšemu Jimmyju Fallonu. Ta trenutno vodi oddajo “Late Night”, ki je na programu tik za Lenovo.
62-letni Leno je 38-letnemu nasledniku čestital ob prevzemu oddaje in izrazil željo, da mu bo uspelo obdržati službo do starosti. Fallon pa je odvrnil, da se veseli vodenja oddaje, ki bo na sporedu še isti dan namesto naslednji. Njegova oddaja pride pred gledalce namreč šele po polnoči.
Fallon bo šele šesti voditelj v zgodovini oddaje “Tonight Show”, ki jo bodo februarja prihodnje leto iz Burbanka Kaliforniji preselili nazaj v New York in sicer na sedež televizije v Rockefellerjevem centru. Televizija NBC še ni sporočila, kdo bo Fallonov naslednik v pozni oddaji.
“Tonight Show” se je začel pred več kot pol stoletja v New Yorku, Johnny Carson pa ga je leta 1972 preselil v Kalifornijo. Leno je Carsona nasledil leta 1992.
Od prihodnjega leta bodo tako v Kaliforniji od najbolj znanih oddaj snemali le še oddajo Jimmyja Kimmla (televizija ABC) in Conana O’Briena (televizija TBS). Fallonn pa se bo v New Yorku pridružil Davidu Lettermanu (CBS) ter Johnu Stewartu in Stephenu Colbertu (Comedy Central).(sta)
