Avstralski rockerji INXS so naznanili svoj razhod
Avstralski rockerji INXS, ki so v svoji karieri prodali več kot 30 milijonov plošč, so na nedeljskem koncertu v Perthu, na katerem so spremljali ameriško skupino Matchbox 20, naznanili, da se razhajajo. Njihovi menedžerji niso bili dostopni za informacije, novica pa je naletela na številne odzive na Twitterju, piše francoska tiskovna agencija AFP.
Pevec skupine Matchbox Rovb Thomas je na Twitterju objavil, da bo pogrešal “INXS fante”, nekdanji frontman zasedbe INXS JD Fortune pa je zapisal: “Tako se je torej zdaj končalo za njih”. Dodal je še, da mu je žal, da se skupina njegovih prijateljev razhaja ter da je počaščen, da je bil del njene zgodovine.
INXS so v 80. in 90. letih minulega stoletja želi mednarodno slavo s karizmatičnimi nastopi frontmana Michaela Hutchencea, ki pa so ga leta 1997 našli mrtvega v enem od hotelov v Sydneyju. Po njegovi smrti se je skupina začasno umaknila z odrov, nato pa preživela nekaj tranzicijskih let z različnimi gostujočimi pevci. Zadnji frotman skupine je bil irski pevec in tekstopisec Ciaran Gribbin, ki se je zasedbi pridružil lani.
Med odmevnimi albumi skupine velja omeniti “Listen Like Thieves”, “Kick” in “X”, med skladbami pa “Never Tear Us Apart”, “What You Need”, “Need You Tonight”, “Devil Inside”, “New Sensation” in “Suicide Blonde”.(sta)
