“Živi”: V Čilu obeležili 40. obletnico letalske nesreče v Andih
V čilski prestolnici Santiago de Chile so v soboto z ragbijsko tekmo obeležili 40. obletnico tragične letalske nesreče v Andih. Nesrečo je preživelo 16 od 45 potnikov. V zasneženih gorah so na rešitev čakali 72 dni, da bi preživeli, pa so jedli meso umrlih sopotnikov. Zgodba je opisana v več knjigah, po dogodku pa so posneli tudi filme.
Med potniki nesrečnega letala je bilo tudi urugvajsko moštvo Stari kristjani, ki je potovalo na tekmo v Čile. Na cilj niso prispeli, saj je njihovo letalo strmoglavilo v Andih. V spomin na nesrečo sta ekipi Starih kristjanov in čilskega moštva, ki naj bi se pomerili pred 40 leti, tekmo odigrali ob obletnici tragedije, poroča ameriška tiskovna agencija AP.
Med igralci so bili tudi člani urugvajske ekipe, ki naj bi sodelovali že na tekmi leta 1972, a jim je nesreča to preprečila. “Ob tem času smo strmoglavili v Andih. Danes smo tu, da zmagamo,” je pred tekmo dejal 61-letni Pedro Algorta, ki je preživel 72 dni v zasneženih gorah.
Prizorišče tekme so preletela vojaška letala, na igrišču pa so pristali padalci s čilskimi in urugvajskimi zastavami. Na slovesnosti, ki so se je udeležili tudi nekateri preživeli, so odkrili tudi spominsko ploščo s fotografijami ljudi, ki so v nesreči izgubili življenje.
Letalo urugvajske letalske družbe je bilo 13. oktobra 1972 na poti iz urugvajskega Montevidea v čilsko prestolnico, ko je zaradi slabega vremena strmoglavilo v zasneženih Andih. V nesreči je umrlo 29 ljudi, 16 preživelih pa so rešili 72 dni po strmoglavljenju.
Preživeli v razbitem letalu na 4200 metrih nadmorske višine so imeli na voljo zelo malo hrane in nobenega gretja. V izjemno težkih razmerah so se hranili z mesom umrlih tovarišev, ki so jih zakopali v sneg. Dva od potnikov, Nando Parrado in Roberto Canessa, sta odšla po pomoč, ki sta jo našla po desetih dneh pešačenja, in tako rešila še ostale.
“Mislim, da so bili trenutki, ko sem moral jesti meso s trupel, najbolj žalostni v mojem življenju,” je po poročanju AP povedal danes 56-letni Canessa, ki je bil ob strmoglavljenju še najstnik.
“Potem ko sem umrl, sem se vrnil med žive,” pa je poudaril Parrado in dodal, da je po nesreči živel polno življenje, ki ga je užival previdno, a brez strahu.
Leta 1993 so posneli tudi film z naslovom “Alive” (Živi), ki opisuje to tekmo za preživetje, kjer so na preizkušnjo postavljene tudi moralne vrednote, ki se spopadajo z instinktom za preživetje. (sta/ured)
