Žrtve komunističnega poboja na Mačkovcu bodo prekopali na pokopališče v Begunjah pri Cerknici
Na Mačkovcu blizu vasi Bukovec pri Velikih Laščah bodo danes začeli z odkopom in prekopom žrtev poboja, ki se je tam zgodil 28. oktobra 1943. Čez mesec dni jih bodo pokopali na pokopališču v Begunjah pri Cerknici, so sporočili iz ustanove Memores.
Kot je v sporočilu za javnost zapisal zgodovinar in soustanovitelj ustanove Memores Jože Dežman, namreč ravno te dni mineva 70 let od zločinov, ki jih je komunistična stran zagrešila med drugo svetovno vojno. “Med njimi je bil posebej grozljiv pomor skupine okoli 40 oseb na Mačkovcu dne 28. oktobra 1943,” je zapisal.
Pri prekopu in pokopu žrtev bodo po Dežmanovih navedbah sodelovali tudi lastnik gozda, župnija Begunje in občina Cerknica.
Kot je še pojasnil, ima ustanova Memores v svojem poslanstvu določeno, da pomaga pri odkrivanju, prekopu in identifikaciji posmrtnih ostankov zamolčanih žrtev vojne in revolucije v Sloveniji in tujini. (sta)
Zverinsko pobiti na Mačkovcu bodo končno dobili dostojanstven in pieteten kraj zadnjega počitka.
